The featured feeder of the month is a way to appreciate and value our feeders, who play a vital role in providing vessel tracking coverage. This month's featured AIS feeder is the Spanish feeder Marcos D'Avilla based in Maspalomas, a resort town in Gran Canaria, in Spain's Canary Islands.Â
Marco is a ship and aircraft enthusiast who has been feeding ShipXplorer with AIS data since June 2022. Besides contributing with AIS data, D'Avilla also feeds data to RadarBox, the flight-tracking website operated by AirNav Systems, ShipXplorer's parent company.

His antenna is installed 3 meters off the ground (9.8 feet), and Marcos currently has an AIS and ADS-B antenna providing AIS & ADS-B data to AirNav Systems.

His station is located near the Faro de Maspalomas in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, a Spanish municipality in the south-eastern part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. With an area of 333.13 km², San Bartolomé de Tirajana is the largest municipality on the island and the Canary Islands.

Maspalomas
Maspalomas is a tourist resort in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, stretching from BahÃa Feliz in the east to Meloneras in the west, including the resort towns of San AgustÃn and Playa del Inglés and San Fernando. Maspalomas constitutes the southernmost part of the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, and of the island.
