You can now share AIS data with ShipXplorer and help expand vessel tracking coverage in your region using the AIS Dispatcher software program. Continue reading to learn how.

What's AIS Dispatcher? 

AIS Dispatcher (developed by AIS Hub) is an AIS data forwarding utility that provides the following features:

  1. Receives AIS data via UDP stream, TCP connection, or serial interface.
  2. Performs CRC check and removes duplicated NMEA messages.
  3. Calculates overall statistics and detailed message statistics.
  4. Performs downsampling of the NMEA stream.
  5. Dispatches the NMEA stream via UDP up to 12 destinations (unlimited for Linux version).

Step 1 – Get sharing details for your station from ShipXplorer (URL: https://www.shipxplorer.com/addcoverage) and select the option to share with AIS Dispatcher.

Step 2 – Insert your connection details. You will need to know the Public IP address of your internet connection.

Step 3 – The details will be shown on the screen – note them down (they will also be sent automatically via email).

Step 4 – Open your AIS Dispatcher web interface.

Step 5 – Go to the configuration panel, add ShipXplorer configuration, and then add the details obtained in Step 3 to the outputs.

Step 6 – Save it and make sure the "Run dispatcher" option is checked. Done!
